Network Automation with Python Remote

摘要

Networks in your infrastructure set the foundation for how your application can be deployed, maintained, and serviced. Python is the ideal language for network engineers to explore tools that were previously available to systems engineers and application developers. In this talk, we'll embark on a Python-based journey to transition from traditional network engineers to network developers ready for the next-generation of networks.

Code examples, further recourses, and latest trends will be provided for audience with different level of needs depends on the scope of their network.

說明

We will start with a basic overview, the talk goes over how Python can interact with both legacy and API-enabled network devices. The different level of abstraction introduced in the library can have a dependency on the level of sophiscation the network device provides. For example, a Cisco IOS device without built-in API will require more abstraction than a Cisco Meraki cloud-based wireless controller. We will demonstrate the code examples used in both scenarios. We will go over which libraries and framework are best to be leveraged to perform network automation tasks, monitoring, management, and enhanced network security. This is generally a confusing topic in my prevous talk because there are too many marketing claims by different projects and vendors. During the session, code example will be introduced and further resources will be provided to be explored after the talk.
