PyCon Taiwan 2012 accepts a broad range of presentations, from reports on academic and commercial projects and case studies. Suitable topics include, but are not limited to:
- Web Programming (e.g Django, Pyramid, Web2Py, TurboGears)
- Cloud Computing
- Scientific Computing
- Python in Business, Education and Maths
- Agile Development and Project Best Practices
- Game Programming
- GUI Programming
- Network Programming
- Packaging Issues

- Python Libraries and Extensions
- System Administration
- Python Implementations: IronPython, Jython, PyPy and Stackless.
Proposal Submission
The language for the proposal and the talk is either English or Chinese. Please decide your default language for the talk. One talk can be presented by many presenters, but the primary presenter should submit the proposal. This is to help us make arrangements for reviewers and draft the conference programme. The proposal must include the following:
- Title of talk
- Choice of kind
- Default spoken language (English or Chinese)
- Choice of category tag
- Audience level
- Description of the talk (min 150 words)
- Abstract of the talk (max 200 words)
- Permission for your talk to be recorded and released on the PyCon Taiwan website..
- Permission for your presentation slide to be downloaded on the PyCon Taiwan website.
- Additional notes, the following personal details are examples: Vocation and Years of experience using Python
All proposals should be submitted online at /2012/speaker.
Presentation Slide / Paper Abstract Submission
Once your proposal is accepted, we will be accepting full or extended presentation slides / paper abstract for the conference.
Presentation Slide Submission
For the benefit of attendees, we request for slides to be annotated in the notes section unless slides are clearly explanatory. All presentations should be submitted online at /2012/speaker.
Paper Abstract Submission
For presenters who wish to submit a short paper or an extended abstract to accompany the presentation, PyCon Taiwan will produce a conference proceedings as an unrefereed volume of The Python Papers Monograph. We would prefer that papers to be no more than 10 pages. Appropriate file formats include any file that can be read with LibreOffice Write or a PDF viewer (pdf is preferred). Slides will not be included in the proceedings. Short papers and extended abstracts should be submitted online at /2012/speaker.
PyCon Taiwan will in addition invite selected presenters to complete full paper submissions for publication in The Python Papers. Full paper submissions should contain all of the usual aspects of a paper (such as an abstract, introduction, body and conclusion) and will be peer-reviewed.
